Concrete Form Setter — About the position
Requirements:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar position within the concrete foundation trade.
In-depth knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment involved in concrete construction, including steel reinforcement and foundation work.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools related to concrete form setting.
Strong understanding of safety procedures and practices on construction sites.
Reliable, responsible, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that require heavy lifting and long hours.
Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
Attention to detail and precision in work to ensure high-quality construction outcomes.
Problem-solving skills to adjust and adapt formwork to meet project specifications.
Responsibilities:
Set up and construct concrete forms for foundations, ensuring precision and accuracy.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine formwork requirements.
Install and secure steel reinforcement within concrete forms.
Coordinate with other team members to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
Monitor the quality of work and ensure adherence to safety standards.
Adjust forms as needed to meet design specifications and resolve any on-site issues.
Maintain and clean tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Assist in the pouring and finishing of concrete.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other trades on-site.
